People Operations Manager
We’re looking for a People Operations Manager to join us for a 13-month parental leave cover, ideally starting by early December. You’ll step into a key HR role in a fast-growing global tech scaleup with well-established people processes, ensuring smooth operations across our locations.
This is a broad, hands-on role where you’ll take ownership of all HR processes, support our employees, and help us continue to foster a strong culture across our global team of 55 employees across 11 countries in Europe and the USA. While the foundational work is in place, you’ll play a key role in keeping things running seamlessly and further developing key areas.
What you’ll do
- People operations: Proactively manage our people processes to ensure we maintain high employee satisfaction (latest eNPS: 59).
- Employee experience: Own the full employee lifecycle, from onboarding to offboarding, and support day-to-day employee needs.
- Partner with leaders: Act as trusted advisor to managers in all people management matters, guiding them on leadership, compliance, and best people practices.
- Development projects: In addition to keeping daily operations running, you’ll lead two key projects: driving compliance with the upcoming EU Pay Transparency Directive and organizing our annual company offsite (so far, we’ve been to Italy, Portugal, and Spain – where to next?).
- Policies & tools: Keep our HR software (HiBob) and people policies up to date and fit for purpose.
What’s not included? Recruitment is owned by our Talent Acquisition Manager, payroll and benefits are coordinated by Finance, and office operations by IT – so you can focus fully on people operations.
Who you are
- You have experience in HR/People Operations, ideally in a global startup or scaleup environment.
- You’re confident in managing HR operations across multiple countries. Our main locations are Finland, the USA, the UK, Germany, and Sweden. With half of our employees based in Finland, knowledge of Finnish employment law is a must, but you’re not expected to have experience from all the countries listed above. Curiosity and problem-solving skills go a long way.
- You’re comfortable being the only HR person in the company, working independently and proactively. While you’ll have support from finance, the leadership team, and all our managers, you’re expected to take ownership and make decisions in all HR topics.
- You have excellent organizational skills and attention to details. With employees in 11 countries, there are many moving parts – ensuring smooth operations requires strong self-management skills.
- You thrive in a growth company environment where priorities may change quickly. You’re flexible, solution-oriented, and quick to adopt new ways of working.
- You’re based in the greater Helsinki area and can work from our Helsinki office (close to Rautatientori) weekly. While we have a flexible remote work policy with no mandatory office days, in this role it would be great to see you around the office frequently.
- You’re fluent in Finnish (e.g., for communication with Finnish authorities) and in English (our company language), and your clear and effective communication helps build trust in a hybrid, global environment.
Why join us?
Grow your PeopleOps expertise: You’ll gain exposure to a variety of HR topics across Europe and the US – an excellent opportunity to deepen your expertise in global people operations.
Make an impact in an interesting growth phase: We’re not planning major team expansion, but we have ambitious growth goals. You’ll play a central role in supporting our diverse and ambitious global team.
Enjoy a flexible, people-first culture: We have a strong remote culture and trust you to manage your work in a way that suits you best. You’ll find a supportive, curious, and down-to-earth team that genuinely enjoys working together.
Comprehensive compensation and benefits: Six weeks of annual holiday, a 1000€ annual personal development budget, and perks like lunch, sports and commuting benefits, as well as extensive occupational health care including dental care.
